The Graphics Studio

The 9 of us showed up to a studio where three tables had been taken over by wrapped packages of various sizes, shapes, and wrappings. Each day for the first week, we had a new gift to unwrap and respond to. On the second week, we were invited to pull from the objects we had brought to work with, responding to the prompt to bring two things: 1) something we've had around for a long time and didn't know what to do with and 2) something we can't imagine as being transformed into an art object. The vinyl hamsa is one of two henna stencils I'd picked up in the souk in one of my trips to Doha, Qatar.
